・ＩＢＭのＣＴＯ（Ｍａｒｋ　Ｄｅａｎ）はそれに対して「they’re no longer at the leading edge of computing. They’re going the way of the vacuum tube, typewriter, vinyl records, CRT and incandescent light bulbs.」と述べた。対してＭＳは「Heck, I even mentioned it in my 30th anniversary of the PC post, noting that “PC plus” was a better term.」として、新しいデバイスは無視できないとしつつ、「There are a set of important things that PCs do uniquely well, and they aren’t going away.」と述べているという。
